Position: Finance Controller
Job Purpose: To manage the financial and accounting activities of Emirates business by organising and managing the Finance team (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cargo) including recruitment, training of staff and allocation/reallocation of duties.
Job Outline
- Total management and responsibility of Accounts Payable function, ensuring that the Companyโs bank accounts are accurately updated on a daily basis, payments made to suppliers both timely and correct, WHT compliance ensured and that costs are recorded accurately in the Companyโs accounting system. Supervising on time monthly, quarterly and year-end closing and reporting to HO. Ensure regular supplier reconciliations are prepared.
- Total management and responsibility of Revenue Accounts and Credit Control functions, analysis and evaluation of all agreements new and existing and identify areas for cost control and reduction. Supervise the maintenance of a database of all agreements and contracts in place, checking of all invoices received from suppliers against the agreements and verify application of financial controls and procedures on financial and accounting activities.
- Monitor regular bank reconciliations, update cash books with any direct debits and credits not previously accounted and ensure banking is done on a timely basis and liaise with the Banks to resolve any outstanding matters.
- Prepare weekly and monthly cash-flow forecasts indicating funds available for transfer to HO, liaison with Treasury and auditors to ensure all requirements are fulfilled for repatriation of funds to Ho. Updating accounting procedures within the Finance Section and carry out regular reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts in the ledger to improve quality of service provided to both internal and external customers.
- Supervision of all Payroll matters including the overtime, shift pay, social security and taxation, Provident Fund contributions of eligible staff to ensure accuracy of payroll data and payments made in a timely manner. Keep up to date with statutory changes that affect payroll and PF matters and give guidance and direction as required.
- Timely submission of all mandatory reports, taxation returns, and ADP returns etc. Scrutinise all staff expenses regularly basis and ensure appropriate payments made. Ensure all KPIs are achieved.
- Provide comprehensive budgeting support to the FAM/Regional FAM and other managers so that the desired quality is achieved in the budget preparation & submissions.
- Provide support to FAM on administrative function and managing different offices in other cities.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications: Degree (Recognised professional accounting qualification to the standard of Chartered Accountant, CPA or similar preferred)
Experience: 5 years of professional experience, of which 3 years must be in a senior supervisory capacity
Knowledge/skills: โ
- Advanced accounting knowledge and skills with analytical ability
- Knowledge of airline operations and accounting will be advantageous
- Knowledge of IATA/BSP matter and knowledge of Taxation issues
- Proven ability to organise a busy work schedule and meet deadlines
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office package
- Familiarisation with different analytical tools and dashboards

Position: Finance Supervisor
Job Purpose: To supervise the execution of all accounting functions for Emirates in the relevant country by leading and supervising the team and ensuring all activities are correctly accounted for in a timely manner and in compliance with company procedures and local regulations.
ย Job Outline:
- Lead and supervise the team by delegating tasks, monitoring performance and ensuring that the assigned tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure the AR process if effectively carried out including the process, reconcile and control financial transactions in Oracle Finance for the Passenger and Cargo sales, i.e. check and reconcile Counter Sales & Refund Reports, produce sales related invoiced and follow-up on the timely receipt of all outstanding monies. Process chargeback requests and bank reconciliation and review agents? accounts in OF to ensure that all unallocated/un-receipted items are cleared and ensure the credit control function is effectively carried out and all due amounts are received and banked within specified time limits.
- Provide support to the AP function by verifying electronic and paper invoices or credit notes for various services against contractual terms, follow invoice approval and ensure invoice workflow reflects only accurate invoice and supplier details and issue all required payment documents in Oracle Financials. Ensure compliance of local tax laws related to payments. Prepare individual and bulk payment transfers in line with corporate guidelines and authority limits and disbursement of expense reports, petty cash, customer and baggage claims.
- Review and investigate under-collection data working in close partnership with the Sales and Revenue Departments, verify and account supplier invoices and processes to ensure timely supplier payment and account for accruals, prepayments and recharges in the system as appropriate to ensure that books are accurate and up to date.
- Reconcile supplier and customer accounts as well as general ledger accounts on a regular basis and investigate and close the discrepancies, analysis budget variances and ensure that the bank reconciliation is current.
- Ensure all activities performed are in line with local tax laws and compliant with legal legislations.
- Maintaining control of all necessary documentation and ensuring all daily reports generated are properly checked and exceptions/disputes/discrepancies are correctly handled and required reports dispatched to HO whilst maintaining efficient records and an effective filing system.
- Liaise with IATA and BSP, perform base cross checks on ticket refunds and process the pay-out through BSP Link and ensure compliance with rules and procedures.
- Provide statistical & productivity analysis as may be required by Finance & Admin Manager from time to time and organise and perform required accounting routines especially during month/quarter/year end.
- Identify areas of cost savings and bring these to the attention of the Finance Manager and other managers and assist with any other Finance Department related ad-hoc duties as and when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
Finance & Insurance. Station Accounting :
Qualifications: โ Bachelorโs in commerce or above โ Basic accounting background
Experience: โ At least 4 yearsโ experience in a multinational company, preferably in an accounting shared service centre
Knowledge/skills: โ
- Knowledge and experience of airline/ travel industry ticketing, refund calculation, settlement and ERP Accounting system/reporting systems advantageous.
- Accounting knowledge and ability to interpret financial statements and KPIs
- Ability to cope, plan and organise a busy workload, with a positive and open attitude to change.
- Knowledge of taxes (deferral & provincial)
- Good knowledge of and proficiency in MS Office, in particular Excel.
