Role Description:
- Design, implement, and manage the organization’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Ensure network security and high availability.
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, both physical and virtual. This includes managing operating systems, server hardware, and server applications.
- Procure, deploy, and maintain computer hardware and software for the organization.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls for various systems and applications. Ensure proper authentication and authorization mechanisms are in place.
- Develop and implement data backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability in case of hardware failures.
- Implement and enforce security measures to protect the organization’s IT assets. This includes managing firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection systems, and security policies.
- Monitor system performance and resource utilization.
- Managing cloud infrastructure, including services provided by cloud providers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Interact with technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure the organization receives quality services and products.
- Maintain documentation for IT infrastructure setup, configuration, and procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. Provide technical support to end-users.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Recommend and implement upgrades or changes to the IT infrastructure to improve efficiency and security.
