Mitchell’s Fruit Farms is a reputable food company specializing in the production and distribution of high-quality food products. We are currently seeking a skilled and competent Assistant Manager Utilities/First-Class Boiler Operator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about maintaining a safe and efficient boiler system.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all utilities operations, including water, electricity, gas, and steam systems
- Operate and maintain first-class boilers, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans for utility systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Monitor and maintain utilities equipment, conduct regular inspections, and perform preventive maintenance tasks
- Monitor boiler operations, including temperature, pressure, fuel supply, and water levels
- Perform regular maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns
- Plan and schedule utilities operations and maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety guidelines
- Analyze utilities consumption data, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to reduce costs and enhance efficiency
Requirements:
- Valid first-class boiler operator’s license/certification and B-Tech/ BSc in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field
- Proven experience in utilities management within the food industry or a similar manufacturing environment and in operating/ maintaining first-class boilers in an industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of utilities systems, including boilers, compressors, refrigeration units, electrical distribution systems, and water treatment systems and boiler systems, including controls, safety devices, and maintenance procedures
- Familiarity with applicable safety regulations and guidelines (e.g., FDA, EPA, OSHA, ASME, local codes)
- Proficient in utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and engage with stakeholders at all levels
