CAREER OPPORTUNITIES: Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), a public sector utility company under the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), is looking for exceptional and dynamic professionals as C-level executives to manage its operations effectively. We seek accomplished individuals fully conversant with the corporate environment, are result-oriented, and possess a well-established reputation for integrity and credibility. PESCO offers market-competitive compensation packages. The initial term for these posts will be three years.
Responsibilities and Skills:
The ideal candidates must possess:
i. A demonstrable capacity to lead a public sector company in a challenging environment, with strong leadership, change management, and communication skills.
ii. Team building skills and the ability to foster an environment that optimizes productivity, a sense of responsibility, and accomplishment through the team.
iii. The ability to navigate the economic, business, social, cultural, legislative, political, and regulatory environments in which the Company operates.
iv. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to develop an environment that ensures effective execution of the utilityโs operations.
v. Industry knowledge and sharp business acumen, along with best managerial practices relevant to national and international power utilities. They should be well conversant with national and international best practices for running a power utility business.
All positions will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
Chief Commercial Officer (1 Post)
- 16-year Degree in Business Administration/Electrical/Electronic Engineering from a local/foreign university recognized by HEC and valid registration from a professional body (Pakistan Engineering Council where applicable).
- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
- Proven expertise in customer service and revenue management in Pakistan.
- In-depth knowledge of best commercial operations practices.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Upper age limit: 57 years.
Chief Human Resource Officer (1 Post)
- 16-year Degree in HR Management or related field from a local/foreign university recognized by HEC.
- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
- HR certification from institutions of repute (national/international) is a strong plus.
- Upper age limit: 57 years.
Chief Information Technology Officer (1 Post)
- 16-year Degree in IT/Computer Systems or related field from a local/foreign university.
- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
- In-depth knowledge of and good experience of information systems including enterprise resource planning systems, software, languages, frameworks, technologies, and industry trends.
- Experience leading complex projects, managing change, and handling IT governance.
- Organizational and interpersonal level; experience integrating teams across multiple business units and managing geographically dispersed environments.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Upper age limit: 57 years.
Chief Legal Officer (1 Post)
- 16-year Degree: LL.B/LL.M/Barrister at Law.
- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
- Enrollment with the High Court is mandatory.
- Proven ability to represent the company in courts and legal forums.
- Strong knowledge of electricity laws and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Upper age limit: 57 years.
Chief Technical Officer (1 Post)
- 16-year Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a local/foreign university recognized by HEC.
- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
- Technical knowledge of power distribution operations.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Upper age limit: 57 years.
Chief Financial Officer (1 Post)
- A recognized professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
- High familiarity with regulatory and compliance issues in the power sector.
- Upper age limit: 57 years.
Chief Internal Auditor (1 Post)
- A member of a recognized body of professional accountants.
- At least 15 years of experience in auditing, risk management, and financial reliability.
- Upper age limit: 57 years.
Chief Supply Chain Management Officer (1 Post)
- Masterโs in Business/Operations Management; Supply Chain certifications are preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain and procurement practices.
- Upper age limit: 57 years.
Director General (MIRAD) (1 Post)
- 16-year Degree in Engineering/Finance/Accounting/Law/Management.
- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Expertise in power purchase agreements and legal frameworks.
- Upper age limit: 57 years.
Company Secretary (1 Post)
- 16-year Degree in Business Administration/Commerce/Law.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Company Secretary.
- Energy sector experience preferred.
- Upper age limit: 57 years.
OTHER CONDITIONS:
- Candidates must comply with the Fit and Proper Criteria as outlined in State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act, 2023.
- Candidates must be Pakistani citizens.
- In the case of false or forged information provided in the application, PESCO reserves the right to disqualify a candidate at any stage, and any costs incurred will be recovered from the candidate.
- PESCO reserves the right to abandon/cancel the hiring process at any stage without assigning any reason.
- Applicants with foreign academic qualifications must furnish an HEC equivalence certificate.
- Candidates should apply only if they meet the eligibility criteria.

- Applications must be submitted via registered post or courier addressed to the Company Secretary, PESCO, and should mention the post applied for on the top center of the cover letter.
- Applicants desired to apply for more than one post must submit separate application for each post.
- Applicants should submit their applications along with the following documents: i. Copies of degrees/testimonials duly verified by the HEC or relevant professional body or association. ii. A detailed CV along with two recent passport-size photographs. iii. Attested copies of CNIC and experience documents. iv. Two work references and two personal references. v. A declaration on non-judicial stamp paper, duly attested by an Oath Commissioner, affirming, that he/she is not ineligible for the post of that he/she is applying for in accordance with the relevant laws, including but not limited to, the Companies Act, 2017, the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act, 2023 and State-Owned Enterprises (Ownership & Management) Policy, 2023.
- Candidates currently in government service should apply through the proper channel, and upon selection, they will be required to resign from their current job/civil service.
