Strategy

  • Provide expertise in all Performance, Reward & Benefits (“PRB”) issues, acting as a trusted reward adviser to relevant Country Management Team (“MT”) members and their direct teams.
  • Provide support on the execution of reward advisor matters and the execution of relevant policies, standards and practices.

Business

  • Work with the Head, PRB, Africa & Middle East (“AME”) to provide day to day reward support for Pakistan, including structuring packages, reviewing new hires, changes to existing employees’ contracts, developing High Remuneration Recruit proposals, mobility taxation, buy-outs of variable remuneration and the planning and completion of the annual performance and pay review.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in Pakistan (such as Head of HR, HR Business Partners, HR Specialist Delivery, Country CEO, Country CFO and Country MT) to lead the local market reward agenda and to ensure that remuneration activities within Pakistan are aligned with Group policies and standards and that activities are consistent across functional business areas.
  • Maintain an up to date understanding of local regulatory requirements. Ensure that all reward related policies, standards and practices in Pakistan are compliant with local requirements, reflect best practice and are aligned with the current and future Group HR and business strategy. Be prepared to support region wide communications and answer questions from the business.
  • Proactively support the communication of changes to the Group’s remuneration policy and standard to HR stakeholders.
  • Evaluate the competitiveness and effectiveness of Standard Chartered’s remuneration policy and practices within Pakistan and feedback into the PRB network.

Processes

  • Collaborate with PRB Product Heads to achieve excellence in the implementation of PRB products and policies across businesses, seeking to improve understanding of these in order to drive business performance and employee motivation.
  • In collaboration with other members of the team, manage the year-end performance and pay review processes for the AME region, in line with Group guidelines and acting as a point of contact for Country MT members. Specifically:
  • Lead discussions with the business teams in relation to year-end messaging.
  • Coordinate all relevant business communication including key year-end messages.
  • Manage other annual remuneration processes including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Partner with Country HR Specialist Delivery in the negotiation and recommendation of Service Level Agreements through the region with the Bank’s external reward and benefits vendors (e.g. remuneration survey vendors, benefits consultants, insurance providers) to secure service and agree budgets.
  • Manage, evaluate and improve effectiveness of all HR products, plans and processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of PRB by technology enhancements, migration to Global People Services or process improvements.

People and Talent

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (at Group, Regional and country level) to ensure their engagement and sponsorship of the Bank’s reward philosophy
  • Provide support to employ, engage and retain high quality people.
  • Support, upskill and train PRB Advisory Support colleagues.

Risk Management

  • In respect of the Group’s Risk Management Framework, ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment in area of responsibility. Identify and articulate forward looking risks for the region. Articulate and manage them through designated PRB risk registers and HR Operational Risk Committee. Ensure all geographical specific Operational Risk and Compliance requirements related to PRB advisory are met.
  • Support statutory and internal audits, as appropriate.

Governance

  • Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group’s controls to deliver effective reward governance in Pakistan and, if necessary, oversee changes in those areas
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates and local regulatory requirements
  • Willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner
  • Capability to challenge fellow executives effectively
  • Work with the Country FLIP Forum Secretary to ensure appropriate governance and control of FLIP pay-outs in Pakistan as per the Group FLIP guidelines.

Position: Senior Resourcing Specialist

Job: Human Resources

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing appropriate Resourcing strategies and managing the end-to-end resourcing process to deliver agreed targets for roles within assigned business areas, ensuring that the right candidates are recruited, at the right time, at the right price. Partnering with the business, the role holder will provide both consultative and transactional resourcing support to deliver a comprehensive and value added service, covering the recruitment all employed worker (internal and external) local and cross border hires and transfers, ensuring all resourcing activity is aligned to and effectively communicates the employer bran.
  • Responsible for efficiently and effectively completing all resourcing administration processes for new hires and internal moves, including system updating, interview scheduling, offer letter and contract creation, processing interview expenses and vendor invoices, pre-employment verification check co-ordination with external vendors and smooth on-boarding.
  • Meet turnaround times and quality standards regarding end to end hiring and contract management and resourcing related activities (e.g. issuing induction packs, ensuring timely creation of Bank ID), in line with global standards and service level agreements

Business

  • Assigned business function
  • Build and develop strong, sustainable relationships with external stakeholders, promoting the Bank as an employer of choice to drive performance and recruitment of the right person, at the right time, at the right price.
  • Manage cross functional / Resourcing projects, as required.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the Head, Resourcing, Pakistan as required.

Processes

  • Responsible for sourcing for roles and assigned business function(s), ensuring direct sourcing channels and the relevant preferred suppliers are used.
  • Ensure delivery (at the right quality & cost) of direct sourcing targets for the country, design and deliver sourcing strategies and solutions that meet business needs, generate diverse pools of applicants and control cost bases.
  • Identify ways to build the candidate experience as they navigate the Resourcing process in-country, sharing best practice regionally and globally, as appropriate.
  • Ensure the Group’s selection products and processes are thoroughly embedded across the country, improving effectiveness of selection and minimizing risks.
  • Drive culture change to embed greater hiring manager discipline in all aspects of the Resourcing process e.g. ensuring hiring managers are up skilled in short listing and recording interview notes, ensuring prompt provision of feedback etc.
  • Conducting interviews for business function(s) and assessing candidates as part of assessment days for programme roles

Risk Management

  • Track completion of legal right to work ,coordinating and obtaining documentation, as required
  • Coordinate completion of pre-employment checks with external vendors, ensuring candidates provide required information in a timely manner, regularly monitoring the third party’s completion of all pre-employment checks in line with SLAs and Bank policy, flagging all issues and delays in a timely manner for onward resolution

Governance

  • Effectively and efficiently use Taleo to manage the end to end resourcing process for lateral hiring for assigned businesses, recording all relevant details (e.g. applicant contact, interview times and dates) and keeping the system up to date at all times
  • Review dashboards and other reports to identify and action any necessary system ‘housekeeping’ or compliance requirements e.g. archiving and deleting applications as required, removing duplicate JRs, closing JRs etc
  • Escalate any issues and risks, as appropriate so that they can be appropriately tracked and managed.
